Lake Placid 2007
Come on out to Lake Placid and experience another dimension of soaring. We need your support to make this event a success. Pilots and aircraft from Montreal Soaring Council and Gatineau Gliding Club begin arriving September 22. Take a look at our LakePlacid page for details. 
2007 First solo
Wow! 2007 is shaping up as quite a year for "graduation". RVSS has now soloed about eight new pilots and almost all of them are new to the club this year. Also noteworthy is the fact that the Puchacz is playing a larger primary role for some students.
Andrew Huddleston made his first P1 glider flight on September 18. Congratulations Andrew.
Jeff Mott's first solo was made on August 14. Duration of his first flight was 2:07 in the the 2-33.
Carl Pottle also made his first solo flight on August 14. Carl launched in the Puchacz, which is a bit unusual.
Andy Travil has the distinction of being the 1st RVSS member to make a 1st solo flight in the Puchacz. Andy's flight occurred on August 13. Congratulations Andy, and send us a photo if you have one.
John Cooper made his first solo in quite some years on Canada Day. The photo below is at his actual first solo with the Cadets.
Congratulations to Al Howard who made his first solo flight on Saturday, May 26. He was clapped on the back by quite a few fellow club members and then baptized at the picnic table.
