The winter 2007/2008 Ground School has concluded. If you want to learn to fly, take your practical flight instruction during the 2008 season and enroll at a later date for next winter's Ground School. The information below gives you some idea of Ground School details.


The Gatineau Gliding Club (GGC) and Rideau Valley Soaring (RVS) have announced their joint annual glider pilot Ground School.

When

Every Monday beginning January 21, 2008 until March 24 (Easter Monday excluded)

Time

6:30pm to 9:30pm. Please arrive at 6pm on the first evening to finalize your enrollment and accept any course materials you ordered

Where

Canadian Aviation Museum, 11 Aviation Parkway K1K 4R3

Cost

$170 (includes a glider flight during the 2008 season). Recommended books are extra.

This training fulfils the Transport Canada Ground School requirement and prepares each Student for the Transport Canada written exam for the Glider Pilot License. The course is a total of 30 hours; a minimum of 15 hours is required to fulfill Transport Canada Ground School requirement. The Ground School fee is $170.

Please note that flight training can be commenced prior to attending Ground School. The requirement to attend Ground School is a licensing requirement. To apply for a Glider Pilot's license, you need to have completed flight training and Ground School.
